Who we are

The Bean Jar is a love letter. Ever since my brother and I were little kids, coffee has been all we know, smell, and live for. Strongly associated with Hispanic culture, our childhood home always
smelled of it. My grandpa used to eat his cereal with coffee and milk; every pastry, dessert, or sweet my grandma so kindly made was accompanied by it. My dad took a barista course and
opened a small coffee shop in Barquisimeto, our hometown in Lara, Venezuela. Then, my brother followed in his steps and became a barista, working in different coffee shops from
Venezuela to Chile and the United States. Coffee remained one of the biggest pleasures in life among our family, and we always found comfort in it. Blending my passion for literature and our love for the craft, The Bean Jar embodies our childhood memories, the warm embrace of our grandparents, our strong bond as a family, and the noble things in everyday life that so often passes us by. And now we invite you to enjoy them with us.

With love,
The Bean Jar
